We are a British Surf School Centre Of Excellence, which means that we:

• Provide: Foundation, Recreational, Performance and Academy programmes.
• Have a high level advanced surf coaching programmes for elite competitive surfers at regional/national level.
• Provide additional facilities and resources or access to such, to enable implementation of relevant training programmes. Facilities to include: class room teaching facility, TV, DVD player, camcorder, fitness training equipment, fitness suite/gym.
• Have access to and use additional support from recognized sports science and fitness coaching specialists for the training programmes.
• Work closely with the BSA for implementation of specific training programmes or requirements of National squad surfers/athletes.
• Have Coaches qualified at levels 1-4

David Renaud

A professional surfer and multiple South African Champion Surfer who is now living in Kingsbridge. David was a member of the European Surfing Association for several years where he competed and won many events. David was placed 5th in the world in the eighties & early nineties. David has an in-depth knowledge of the ocean and was a professional lifeguard for many years. David has vast experience in Surf Schools and delivering coaching as he also owned and managed the successful Ocean Academy Surf School in Umhlanga South Africa.

Dave has surfed the World Surfing tour and placed fifth in the world during the mid eighties. Dave has also run his own successful International Surfing Tour Company for several years: www.africansurfaris.com

David is currently a qualified lifeguard and British Surfing Association registered coach, NARS Lifeguard, and a qualified Advanced First Aider. CRB checked.

Patrick Renaud

A multiple South African Surfing Champion and Proffessional Lifeguard. Patrick has been residing in Kingsbridge for 15 years. He has worked in the surf & lifeguard industry for 20 years and has been working for the RNLI as a Lifeguard Manager and Training Manager for the past 10 years.

Patrick's experiance and knowledge of the ocean is of the highest standard. Patrick established and managed the 1st Quiksilver Summer Surf School in Durban during the early ninties. Patrick has co - ordinated and managed surf contests in South Africa and here at Bantham Beach - Globe Bantham Beach Surf Classic.

Pat is a British Surfing Association Coach Educator and Lifeguard Trainer Assessor. Pat is the Lifeguard Training Manager for the RNLI so quality and safety is at the highest order.
